THE PLANETARIUM PROJECT:

In live collaboration with Black Forest/Black Sea, Eyes Like Saucers and Mudboy.

Double full length cd release limited to 500 copies housed in a stunning and uniquely designed handmade hand assembled letterpress cardstock sleeve by discerning artist Amy Borezo at her Shelter Bookworks studio in Orange, MA.

We have been fans and have closely followed Providence’s Area C project for several years. It was simply a matter of time before we would release something by this dynamic artist and these special recordings presented themselves as the obvious choice. AREA C’S work has always appealed in its ability to be at once hypnotically accessible balanced by subtle and brooding dark elements under the surface. It recalls both post-rock elements as well as the more experimental works of classic 70’s German space rock groups. The live collaborations with the other Providence based artists push Area C's distinctive sound in compelling directions. This document represents over two hours of carefully selected music taken from many evenings of performances.

vidnaObmana "1984-1986 Testament Of Tape" 3xLP:

The first of 2 epic vinyl retrospectives covering vidnaObmana's obscure cassette period from 1984 till 1986. This 3LP box-set will be released on the fascinating Vinyl On Demand label. A label responsible for reissuing classic and obscure music from well-respected underground bands like SPK, Severed Heads, Esplendor Geometrico, Maurizio Bianchi and many others.

1984-1986 Testament Of Tape captures vidnaObmana in his most experimental phase, searching for his own musical voice moving through various styles. From utterly relentless noise music to rhythmical industrial outbursts, this 3LP set features unreleased and extremely rare tracks from John Weyden's private collection (a personal friend for whom the music was exclusively recorded) to songs from early cassettes releases.
This essential archival release will be available in the complete 3LP box-set (477 copies in total) and a 1 LP, now for pre-order at Vinyl On Demand.

Samara Lubelski "Future Slip":

"Future Slip" is a worldly record, a record which offers ‘a taste of the new dimension’ but warns of ‘guru bummers’. To a sunny day it adds the shadows which allow the perception of depth. On a rainy day it offers a selection of cakes. Anyone who does not dig this record deserves our pity, as they know nothing about the joy or sadness of life.

"Future Slip" to be released by Ecstatic Peace! on CD August 25th. Vinyl to follow at end of summer.

On this night Om performed their seminal album Conference of the Birds live in its entirety. Newly invoked energy resonates in the sound of the band. The dynamics between Emil Amos and Al Cisneros have rendered these songs, and Om’s sound into a higher evolution. Here we are given a proper documentation of Conference era Om.

ONNA "s/t" CD:

Underground cartoonist and leader of the group Onna, Keizo Miyanishi left behind one of the greatest documents from the 1980s. Self-released on his own Cupid & Psyche label, the single contains two songs, “Cortigiana dal velo” and “Mune o tutunde,” which pair guitars and bass over some of the most tripped-out drum programming of all time. This psychedelic masterpiece ranks alongside the first White Stains 7-inch as one of the all-time greatest from the era. There is an outtake from these sessions, “Haha nareba koso,” which is just as amazing, and the three songs would fit in a Terminal Boredom discussion about acid punk classics from Crawling Chaos to Chrome.

In addition to the studio material from the 7-inch, this CD includes two outtakes from Katawa, a solo piece from an obscure cassette release, and four live tracks from 1983 featuring a young Michio Kurihara [White Heaven, Ghost, Boris] on second guitar. These are the first Kurihara recordings and come from a long-deleted double live Onna CD released in the early 1990s.

Original EP was released on Cupid & Psyche records in 1983 with Keizou Miyanishi on vocal & guitar, Mafuyu Hiroki on guitar and bass, produced by Michirou Endou & Onna.

ALUK TODOLO "Finsternis":

Aluk Todolo are a recondite creature. Part okkult black metal fiend and part snide kraut menace. Somehow the doppelganger works and Finsternis proves for a second time there is brilliance in the absence of light. Dry, spare percussion grievously mines the scrapes, shrieks and shimmer of mutated guitar and bass. Finsternis is the German word for eclipse, mimetic of cyclic elements, phases and unphases, endless rebeginnings, broken circles and perfect circles. A dangerous, noxious coil of all things black.
